Definition of Gifted:

Outstanding intellectual and creative ability, the development of which requires specially designed programs or support services, or both, not ordinarily provided in the regular education program. (Chapter 16 Regulations PDE)

Gifted Education Coordinator...

  • Writes and assists with the implementation of the GIEP
  • Provides consultative services to the gifted student
  • Provides resources and materials for classroom enrichment and acceleration
  • Works in classrooms as collaborative and model teacher
  • Advocates for gifted students
  • Provides resources and opportunities for gifted students
  • Helps gifted student meet his/her potential
